Grace Gawler is the co-founder of the Gawler Foundation, therapist, author, inspiring speaker and recognised wellness leader.

Grace’s connection with Reiki Australia began in 2005 as an inspired concurrence of values, and a vision to fill the skills gap experienced by natural therapies practitioners who provide treatments for people with cancer and other life challenging illness. The partnership led to the creation of the module HLTCOM509A Provide Services for People with a Life Challenging Illness. This unit of competency was endorsed for inclusion in the Health Training Package, the national framework for skills development in the health industry, and has already been included in a number of qualifications.

Here is Grace’s response to our invitation to be Reiki Australia’s patron:
‘I am both honoured and thrilled to accept the invitation to be a Patron of Reiki Australia. I am committed to the way of life and ethics that Reiki Australia promotes: compassion, co operation, honour, inclusiveness, integrity, professionalism and respect. For more than thirty years I have been involved in hands-on healing practices and during that time I have witnessed many thousands of people around the globe undergo a metamorphosis as a direct result of the power of touch. Reiki touch reconnects us and our clients with a deeper sense of self allowing access to the healer within and our untapped innate potential. As well I believe that the Reiki way of life sets a precedent for planetary healing helping us to align with the natural and universal rhythms of life. Grace is an inspiring speaker and her presentation and workshop at the National Reiki Conference ‘Living our Practice’ 23-25 October 2009 will invite us as Reiki practitioners to explore our own energy field to enhance self-care. Grace will highlight why energy matters and what simple practices we can introduce to enhance our ‘energy bank account’ and be more present and therefore more available for self and family, friends and clients.

Grace will be available for book signing of 'Woman of Silence' and 'Grace, Grit and Gratitude' at the conference.
