22nd March 2001: The NSW ARC representative was referred to a Conference Planning team member and received first hand information of the upcoming National Reiki Conference.

12th June 2001:
Invitation to attend the inaugural National Reiki Conference in Sydney, 4th - 9th September 2001 was forwarded to the complete postal and e-mail database of known masters and students of Reiki as well as to Reiki organisations to pass onto members of their Reiki community. Then known Reiki organisation's included IIRT, URN, ARC, AR and RAPMA. -
10th August 2001: An
e-mail invite-flier with a quote from Susan Scowcroft, Executive Director NSW CSHITAB was forwarded to further emphasis the importance of participation in the inaugural National Reiki Conference. Presentations, discussions and agreements reached at the 2001 National Reiki Conference set the stage for the project over the ensuing years. -
6th September 2002:
Invitation inviting participation in the 1st series of nationwide Discussion Groups (DG). This included the complete postal and e-mail database of known masters and students of Reiki as well as to Reiki organisations to pass onto members of the Reiki community. Reiki organisations included IIRT, URN, ARC, AR, SARHTC, and RAPMA. -
23rd March 2003:
Invitation was forwarded to Executive committee members of each of the known Reiki association to participate in the inaugural Reiki Association Meeting 5th August 2003. Organisations included IIRT, URN, ARC, AR, SARHTC, and RAPMA. The meeting was intended to create an opportunity for communication and was planned to coincide with the 2nd National Reiki Conference. -
1st - 11th April 2003:
Invitation to participate in the 2nd National Reiki Conference in Perth 7th - 10th August 2003 was forwarded to the complete postal and e-mail database of known masters and students of Reiki as well as to Reiki organisations to pass onto to members of the Reiki community. Reiki organisations included IIRT, URN, ARC, AR, SARHTC, and RAPMA. -
24th March 2004:
Invitation was sent to the complete database of known masters and students of Reiki as well as to Reiki organisations to pass onto members of the Reiki community to attend the 2nd series of nationwide Discussion Groups. Reiki organisations included IIRT, URN, ARC, AR, SARHTC, and RAPMA and ASURC Inc. -
October and November 2004: In line with CSHISC recommendation, Reiki Australia distributed a
national survey to seek information to be as broad and accurate as possible about the range of nature of Reiki treatment practice in Australia. The survey was designed to gather information about diversity of forms practiced and common beliefs to inform National standards. Surveys followed Australian privacy laws and were collated by an independent source.
The survey was forwarded to the Reiki community via the following communication channels:-
all known
Reiki Associations with a request to distribute to their members; -
all
individuals who had attended any Reiki Australia hosted event during the four and a half year consultation period; -
Reiki Australia's postal database of
Reiki Masters and individuals with the request to distribute the survey to their students; and -
Reiki Australia's extensive e-mail database; and
-
worksites where Reiki is either offered on site or is being considered.
In addition, the practitioner survey invited the respondent to support widespread consultation by:

alerting Reiki Australia to possible worksites that could be surveyed; and
-
spreading the word about the survey through their personal Reiki circle.

November 2004: As part of Reiki Australia's ongoing commitment to ensure that the survey was disseminated as widely as possible an executive from each of the following organisations was phoned by an executive of Reiki Australia. The reason for the phone call was to explain the purpose of the survey, how the information would be used and invite active participation in the process of developing national standards.
Eileen Chapman - President, Reiki Association of Practitioners and Masters Australia Inc. (RAPMA). RAPMA demonstrated active participation.
Ming Lee Bird - President, South Australian Reiki Healing & Teaching Centre Inc (SARH&TC). Messages for Ming Lee were unreturned.
Dorothy White - Academy of Reiki. (AR). Messages for Dorothy were unreturned.
John Coleman - President, Australian Reiki Connection (ARC). The ReikiAustralia executive advised John that if they were not able to get involved in this review of the Health Training Package, it would be another three years until the next review. ARC made no official response to the survey.
Lawrence Ellyard - Director, The International Institute of Reiki Training (IIRT). Lawrence agreed to forward the survey to select practitioners within the organisation.
Barbara McGregor - Governing Director, Usui Reiki Network Pty Ltd. After several attempts contact was not able to be made.
Management Committee - Australian Society of Usui Reiki Channels Inc. Phone contact was unable to be made due to lack of contact details. -
27th August 2005: Reiki Australia distributed an extensive postal and e-mail
notice of the release of draft qualifications for Reiki treatment practitioners. As the first draft of the Reiki Treatment Practice qualifications had become available on CSHISC website for validation from all stakeholders including Reiki practitioners, industry work sites, and RTO's, the consultation process moved to a new stage. In co-operation with the CSHISC industry validation, Reiki Australia notified the following sectors of the Draft 1 qualifications:-
all known Reiki Associations who were asked to notify their members;

work sites that had responded to the survey;
-
all individuals who had attended any RA hosted event during the four year consultation period received a postal survey; and
-
all individuals on Reiki Australia's extensive email database.

* Note: Reiki Australia recently became aware of the formation of Australasian Usui Reiki Association (AURA official launch August 2003). Even though correspondence has not been officially sent to this organisation, the President as an individual has received invitations to participate since contact details were supplied by William Rand in 2002.Reiki Australia's national e-mail database is in excess of 400 > ongoing to students and those in recipients Reiki circle.

Consultation participation figures: Discussion Groups 230, Conferences 70, National Practitioner Survey 162, National Worksite Survey respondents 18. Total consultation participation = 480.
