A Code of Conduct for Unregistered Health Practitioners was passed in NSW parliament, effective as of August 1 2008
The Code of Conduct has its legal authority underpinned in the Public Health (General) Amendment Regulation 2008.  All Reiki practitioners who treat members of the public must abide this Code as a minimum requirement even if they belong to a memberhip body, such as Reiki Australia, with its own Codes and Complaints procedure for practitioners.  NSW health practitioners are required to display both the Code of Conduct and the Health Care Complaints Commission Notice in the waiting area of their clinic.
