Phyllis Lei Furumoto, the grand-daughter of Hawayo Takata, is acknowledged by masters and students worldwide, as the current lineage bearer of Usui Shiki Ryoho, the form of practice brought to the west by her grandmother. Phyllis will share her impressions of what it means to be a lineage bearer.
‘The Reiki method’ arising out of Mikao Usui’s dedicated search and his passion for learning in early 20th century Japan has been passed on through successive lineage bearers. A form of this system of Reiki was taken to the United States of America by Hawayo Takata; it was this system of Reiki, known as Usui Shiki Ryoho, that was brought to Australia in the early 80s. Phyllis is providing opportunities for Reiki masters and students to experience and learn through this direct contact with her, which is the essence of the oral tradition.
Phyllis Furumoto is reducing her travel schedule she is not planning to return to Australia after this year.
