Join Reiki Australia for a special online presentation with Dr Sonia Zadro, as she presents her research paper exploring an important question for the Reiki community:
Is Reiki more effective than a placebo?
As healers and Reiki practitioners, we are often guided by personal experience, intuition and what we observe through practice. At the same time, we live in a world that increasingly asks for scientific evidence.
Because energy healing does not easily fit within dominant materialist and biomolecular models of science, Reiki is sometimes dismissed as being simply a placebo effect.
In this 40-minute presentation, Sonia will present findings from her research paper and discuss the growing evidence investigating Reiki’s effectiveness compared with placebo.
Her research examines evidence relating to Reiki and:
Mental health symptoms
Acute and chronic pain
Chronic conditions, including fibromyalgia and cancer
Blood pressure
Heart rate and other vital signs
The current state and future direction of Reiki research
Sonia will also explore what the existing evidence may mean for Reiki practitioners and for the ongoing conversation between Reiki, healthcare and scientific research.
