Accredited Reiki Treatment Practitioner

In 2010 the major Australian Reiki associations agreed to adopt the NSW Code of Conduct as the national minimum standard for their Reiki practitioners.  This standard was adopted because Reiki practitioners in NSW have been obliged to abide these Codes since legislation was introduced in 2008.  Since this time, anyone in NSW who is providing Reiki treatments to the public, whether or not they are members of a Reiki association, have been regulated by this legislation.  It is anticipated that this standard will soon become the national standard.  An initiative that was begun by the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council (AHMAC) over a decade ago, to strengthen the regulatory protections for consumers, is drawing to a conclusion, with draft national standards expected late 2011.  When a national Code of Conduct  is introduced all Reiki practitioners will need to meet that standard.   Learn more about the regulation of Unregistered Health Practitioners (Reiki practitioners who treat the public are specifically included in the scope of this regulation).

Accredited Reiki Treatment Practitioners must abide the Code of Conduct for Profesional Reiki Treatment Practitioners (2010).  This Code, and Complaints procedure,  are supplied in an attractive, display-ready booklet format. It is designed to inform your clients about your obligations, and the mechanism available to them should they believe that you have breached these obligations.  This Code matches that which is already required of NSW Reiki practitioners.

  •  Applications are now being accepted from Reiki Australia Practitioner members who wish to seek admittance under grandparenting provisions that recognise their current competency and experience.
