What is Distant Reiki Healing?
So, you’re thinking of adding Distant Reiki Healing to your health plan but you’re not quite sure what to do or, expect!
Let’s start with Reiki healing itself, what is it? Reiki is a natural healing technique which promotes relaxation and accelerates the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Rei means the higher intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the universe. Ki, the universal life force, is the non-physical energy that animates all living things.
When your life force (energy) is low or, if there is a restriction in its flow, you will be vulnerable to illness. Reiki removes restrictions and restores your energy. When this happens, your energy is high and flows freely, creating space for health, vitality, and well-being.
Distant Reiki Healing
Distance Reiki healing is often the preferred method of healing for those who are unable to leave their homes (hello, lockdown!) or care facilities, who prefer to start or end their days, in the comfort of their own home, with Reiki or, who live a busy schedule and like to minimize travel time!
Distance Reiki works according to the Hermetic Law of Similarity. This law holds that we are all connected, we are all energetic matter.
We are one piece of a larger whole!
Using the Reiki distance symbol your Reiki Practitioner sends healing Reiki energy across space. Your Practitioner can connect to their client’s energy and work from anywhere, anytime. This is done with the client’s permission. If you have never met your Practitioner in person or via an online video chat platform before, they may ask you for your full name and a photo. I prefer to set up an agreed upon, mutual time for the Reiki session. It is best (and suggested) that you are in a quiet place, where you will not be interrupted, in a comfortable position. You may choose to play soft music; this is personal choice.
Even with in-person sessions, I tend to fall asleep (many do once they are accustomed to the practice) although not necessarily, I have some clients who love to chat during their sessions, too! Every session will vary but, if you find that you’re someone who falls asleep during the session, I suggest you find your most comfortable couch or, snuggle into bed for an evening of rest and relaxation!
What is Reiki good for?
Reiki promotes relaxation, so if you can ‘give in to that,” great! Honestly, I practice Self-Reiki on every night before bed to help with falling asleep.
Remember, while Reiki promotes relaxation and the body’s natural ability to heal itself, Reiki is not a replacement for medical care. Reiki is a complementary health service. You should seek medical advice from a medical professional for anything you feel necessary.
